Modern, fun, family friendly, dog and puppy training on the Causeway Coast with Dog Trainer of the Year 2022

Welcome to Causeway Dog Training! Bringing dog training and puppy classes in Coleraine into the modern era. Gone are the days of the long disproved “dominance theory” and if you’re anything like me, dogs are absolutely part of the family. What comes with that, is a need for our dogs to cope and behave appropriately with our busy lives.

Having a young family myself, I am able to design training programmes that work with your busy life, not against it. If you want a chat to find out how I can support you with your training needs, book a free call below!

I am so grateful to those of you who nominated me for NI Dog Trainer Of The Year for 2022, and to everyone who voted for me, making me Dog Trainer Of The Year! It means so much to me to have your support. I am going to continue striving to raise the bar for training on the North Coast and will be hoping to make a comeback at next year’s awards!

Benefits of Puppy Class

Puppy classes don’t just teach all the behaviours your puppy will need to know to become a lovely pet dog, although that’s part of it. Puppy classes teach your puppy to engage with you even when there’s other puppies and people around. When you get out into the world with your puppy there’s going to be plenty of distractions to battle against, puppy class will armour you up with strategies to keep your puppy focused and responsive to you.

Flash

Flash is my 4yo Springer Spaniel. While he isn’t the reason I became a trainer, he definitely made me a good one. He was bred to be a gundog and was training at it for 7 months, he went through a few gundog trainers to be labelled as stubborn and unfocused. It took until 7 months for his latest trainer to realise he is actually deaf! And at that point I got the call about him. When Flash arrived with us he immediately decided he was home and was never going anywhere else. He taught me very quickly about engagement and focus (or should we say lack there of) and I had to seriously up my game to understand how to keep him focused on me when the desire to go off and dig and bark at the sky was much more appealing. I can gladly tell you that he is now my best trained dog, most engaged and focused, fastest recall and if I do say so myself, the best little spoon. I have high hopes for Flash as an agility and hoopers dog and am very grateful to his sponsors Bears Pets for keeping him fuelled and AKT Veterinary Physiotherapy for keeping him smooth.
